Cinnamon Rolls!!!

We love cinnamon rolls. Especially when they're right out of the oven and still a little gooey. I've been wanting to make cinnamon rolls from scratch, but knew it would take FOREVER. My son asked me to make some blueberry cinnamon rolls for his birthday breakfast, and I found a recipe that said to let the rolls rise overnight. So, I thought, why not? I shouldn't have.  They tasted like blueberry flavored yeast.  :(

Skip a head 3 months later.....
My friend is in charge of the food for our Youth Group get togethers and thought it would be a good idea to have cinnamon rolls for the kids, made from scratch, and asked if I would help her. She said she found a recipe that was "super easy and fast."  I didn't believe her, but I decided to help her out. I mean it is for a good cause right?  The recipe is from Inspired Craft Ideas.  They were pretty easy to make.  My least favorite part of making cinnamon rolls is cutting them. We used embroidery thread to slice them, which worked pretty well.

Got them all rolled up about to be cut.

About to go in the oven!!

We made double the icing.  We're just like that. They were very good.  The rolls we put in a glass dish burned on the bottom pretty good. The ones in the metal pan were perfect.

Apple Bundt Cake

I love the way bundt cakes look. To me, they look like so much work and effort was put into the cake, and they're beautiful. I received a bundt pan for Christmas last year, and just knew I was going to use it all the time.   I've only used it twice.  I made a delicious chocolate sour cream cake, that I had been wanting to make forever, only to have it crumble out of the bundt pan. I was totally depressed and a little intimidated by a pan. So, I put the pan in the cabinet and didn't touch it for 10 months. I read up on how to use a bundt pan (seriously) and decided it was time to face my fears.  I found this recipe on Pinterest from Jam Hands and hoped for the best. The cake came out perfect!  I didn't use any pecans, because my family doesn't like them in cakes, but it was delicious!

As you can tell, someone was ready to dig in lol.

Blueberry Cake

This summer, we took the kids to a blueberry farm to pick some blueberries. We left with 15 ponds of blueberries!!!! I had all sorts of plans for these blueberries: blueberry syrup, blueberry preserves , muffins, you name it, I thought of it. Well of course none of those things happened, and I froze them all.   Then I found this cake from Erren's Kitchen on Pinterest.  All I can say is YUM!!
My daughter and I made this cake together for a school lesson. She had fun making it, and a lot more fun eating it.
